Um unsere Kommunikation zu verbessern, haben wir ein Istha-gosthi eingerichtet, welches jeden Dienstag um 17:30 Uhr in der Tempelbibliothek stattfindet. Alle sind willkommen!
Jeden Mittwoch, Donnerstag, Freitag und Samstag gibt es um 19:00 Uhr nach der Gaura-arati eine Lesung aus der Bhagavad-gita. Ihr seid herzlich eingeladen, dabeizusein und von den kraftvollen Worten Sri Krsnas und Srila Prabhupadas zu profitieren.
Der März war ein toller Monat. Viele unserer Gottgeweihten hatten Geburtstag, und wir feierten diese auf Vaisnava-Art: yajna, dana, tapa. Singen der Heiligen Namen, Geben und Empfangen von Geschenken, Durchführen kleiner Entsagungen J Aber was noch wichtiger ist: Am 24. März feierten wir Sri Ramacandras Erscheinungstag. Es war ein schöner Tag mit Gesang, Gebeten und Maha-Prasadam. Wir danken allen, die bei der Feier teilgenommen und diese somit ermöglicht haben. Das Erscheinen und die Aktivitäten des Herrn sind transzendental und sollten von jedermann wahrgenommen werden. Sri Krsna sagt in der Bhagavad-gita 4.8:
“Um die Frommen zu erretten und die Gottlosen zu vernichten und die Prinzipien der Religion wieder einzuführen, erscheine Ich Zeitalter nach Zeitalter.”
Und so erschien Sri Ramacandra, um die Herzen Seiner Geweihten zu beleben und die atheistischen Herrscher, angeführt vom großen Dämonen Ravana, zu vernichten. Diese Geschichte findet sich im großen indischen Epos Ramayana. Im Vorwort des Buches gibt es eine interessante Bemerkung zum Leben Ravanas und wie es zu seinem Untergang kam.
Als sich Ravana einmal an einem entlegenen Ort befand, sah er „Vedavati“, eine meditierende Asketin, und wollte sie zu seinem Besitz machen. Er berührte ihr geweihtes Haar, woraufhin sie aus ihrem Gleichgewicht geriet und ihr Leben aufgab. Kurz vor ihrem Tod sagte sie ihm, sie würde ihre nächste Geburt von Mutter Erde nehmen und zur Ursache seines Ablebens werden. Dann wurde sie als Sita Devi geboren, die geliebte Gefährtin Sri Ramas, der den Dämonen später tötete.
Das ist die dämonische Geisteshaltung. Ravana dachte sich: „Alles dient meinem Genuss!“ Und das war die Ursache für seinen Niedergang. Erinnern wir uns immer an die zeitweilige Natur dieser Welt, und vergessen wir nie, wem alles gehört. Gottgeweihte tun alles zu Seiner Freude und werden mit dem Maha-Prasadam des Herrn belohnt, Seiner grenzenlosen Gnade.

Am Donnerstag, den 25. März kam ein Fernsehteam des SWR nach Goloka Dhama und brachte einen schönen Livebericht unseres Tempels. Der kurze Bericht war sehr positiv, und wir freuen uns, unserem Freundeskreis eine Aufzeichnung des Fernsehbeitrags mitzugeben. Leider dürfen wir das Material nicht im Internet veröffentlichen.
Wir hoffen, euch zum nächsten Sonntagsfest begrüßen zu dürfen, um gemeinsam die heiligen Namen zu chanten.

Goloka Dhama Newsletter April 2010
Dear devotees and friends of Sri Sri Radha Madana Mohana,
Hare Krishna! Please accept our hearty greetings and we hope that you are all well and fine.
In order to improve our communication we had organized a weekly Istha-Gosthi in the temple which we will do every tuesday each week at 17:30 in the library. Every one is welcome to attend.
We have also started a reading of the Bhagavad Gita every week at Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday after Gaura arati at 19:00 O’clock. You are invited to take part and be benefited by the powerful words of Sri Krsna and Srila Prabhupada.
The month of March was a very nice month. Many of our devotees had birthdays in March and we celebrated as Vaisnavas do. Yajna, dana, tapa. Singing of the holy names, giving and accepting of presents and performing a little austerityJ But more importantly there was the celebration of the appearance of Sri Ramacandra on march 24th. We had a beautiful celebration with singings, offerings of Prayers and honouring Maha Prasadam of the Lord. We thank all of those who took part in the celebration and made it possible. The Lord’s appearance and activities are transcendental and shall be observed by every one. Sri Krsna states in Bhagavad Gita 4.8:
“To deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to re-establish the principles of religion, I Myself appear, millennium after millennium.”
And so appeared Sri Ramacandra to enliven the heart of His devotees and to destroy the atheistic kings headed by the great demon Ravana. The story is found in the great Indian Epic Ramayana. In the Forward to the book there is an interesting remark about the life of Ravana and how things led to his destruction.
Once while passing through a secluded place Ravana saw “Vedavati” a meditating acetic woman and thought of possessing her. He touched her sanctified hair, after which she became very disturbed and gave up her life. Before that she told him that she will take her next birth from mother earth and will be the cause of his destruction. She was then born as Sita Devi, the beloved consort of Rama who later on killed the Demon.
This is the demoniac mentality. Ravana thought to himself: “Everything is for my enjoyment!” And this was the cause of his destruction. We shall always remember the temporary nature of this world and never forget to whom everything belongs. Devotees of the Lord offer everything for His pleasure and are awarded by the Maha Prasadam of the Lord, His unlimited mercy.

On Thursday March 25th a Television crew (SWR) came to Goloka Dhama and made a nice live report of our temple. The recording was beaming with positivism and we are happy to present a copy of this recording to our circle of friends. Unfortunately we are not allowed to publish this material in Internet.
We hope to see you for the next Sunday feast and chant the holy names together.
