Newsletter February 2022

Dear Friends and devotees,

Please accept our best wishes, all glories to our founder Acharya Srila Prabhupada.

In this newsletter we would like to share with you some inspiration on preparing ourself for the appearance of Lord Nityananda, an update about the regular evening kirtan and the arrival of spring.

Evening Kirtan - One for All and All for One

Everyday between the hours of 18:00 and 19:30, a programme for serving the

Lord´s Holy Names takes place in the Sri Sri Radha Madana-Mohana

Temple. It starts with Gaura-arati, followed by Nrsimha Prayers and continues with the Maha-Mantra. Our Master of Ceremonies, Bala Govinda Prabhu, organises those who wish to lead kirtan instantly. Whether you come to listen(sravanam), to sing(kirtanam) or both, the whole idea is to remember

Krsna(smaranam) and to remind others about Our Supreme Lord. So why not

add some muscle mass onto your chanting; you only need to bring your heart

and soul. We leave you with this little message:

bring your heart and voice

bring a melody of your choice

leave behind that mundane noise

and unite all our heartfelt joys

for Syamasundara´s threefold poise

see you all soon, Sri Sri Radha Madana Mohana ki jaya!

Nityananda will soon appear!

This up-coming month, we will be able to celebrate the appearance day of Lord Nityananda. We can already feel that something special is going to take place. Some exceptional mercy and powerful blessings are going to flow and fill up our hearts. Let us then keep the recipient in our hearts in good shape by educating ourselves about Lord Nityananda and making an attempt at becoming absorbed in His pastimes. Let us start by praying to Him and glorifying His extremely beautiful qualities.

Being an incarnation of Balarama, Nityananda has inimitable amounts of spiritual strength. That is exactly what we need; being a very small spiritual soul highly influenced by the material energy. It is time to dig deep into our heats like an archaeologist and find out what blessings we need most at this time of our journey. By Nityananda´s powerful blessings, we will surely take a firm step forward. Nityananda can make the impossible possible. He can transform us beyond our expectations. We just need to fine tune our prayers and make it grow with some intensity and focus.

Krishna Dasa Kaviraja makes a perfect statement on the mercy of Nitai in his Sri Caitanya Caritamrita: ”Because He is intoxicated by ecstatic love and is an incarnation of mercy, He does not distinguish between the good and the bad. He delivers all those who fall down before Him. Therefore He has delivered such a sinful and fallen person as me.“ (CC Adi-Lila, 5. 208-209).

Even though Nityananda is not going to check our qualifications when distributing His mercy, Krishna Dasa Kaviraja has given us a key to become a good recipient; humility. And that humility is condensed in the mood “I need your help my dear Lord – I am helpless without you”.

Let us prepare our hearts for this very special occasion; coming up on the Monday 14th February. You are all most welcome to follow the online program on our Facebook page.

The beauty and fragrance of flowers

We shall get a little glimpse at the oncoming Spring by appreciating the beauty and fragrance of flowers. All the descriptions of the spiritual world mention an abundance of beautiful and fragrant of flowers. We even hear about it when Krsna, Balarama and all other boys are going to herd the cows in the forest of Vrindavana, they are beautifully decorated with many jewels, pearls, silver and gold ornaments. But once they are away from their parent’s vision, they place their ornaments behind a bush and rather prefer to wear flower garlands and mineral powder.

In the same way, Sri Sri Madan Mohan take pleasure receiving fresh flower garlands everyday. The dedicated lady servants of Goloka Dhama are engaged in producing these beautiful garlands with love and devotion daily. Another way flowers are pleasing to their Lordships are the beautiful vases that are arranged once or twice weekly. During festivals, the flower decorations are also very artistic. It is very inspiring to see how art and beauty have an important place in the spiritual world. We like to particularly express our gratitude to Sarada who has been doing the vase service for so many years with much love and attention.

We wish all of you an uplifting month and with the special mercy of Lord Nityananda, we also express our gratitude for your continual support.

On behalf of Goloka Dhama community,

Your servant,

Gaurahari dasa
