In the sacred and serene atmosphere of Goloka Dhama, the heart of our community naturally beats strongest in the Deity department, where Radha Madan Mohan reside. It is here that loving, hands-on service draws us together in sweet, personal offerings of the heart. This month, we would like to gently spotlight two young and inspiring devotees whose steady hands and bright hearts have become a big part of the daily flow of seva: Olena and Nico.
Olena, originally from Ukraine, has been with us at Goloka Dhama for the past three years. Her joyful energy, genuine curiosity, and heartfelt sincerity shine through in everything she does. She is known for her respectful, thoughtful nature, her hard-working spirit, and her deep interest in spiritual philosophy. From the very beginning, Olena’s ability to connect with others stood out – many volunteers still fondly remember her warm welcome and loving guidance. She has not only been a support to visitors, but often invites her own friends to come and experience the special charm of life in a spiritual community.
Olena has become more and more involved in the Deity department. Whether she’s helping clean and polish the Deities’ paraphernalia or preparing delicious sweets like sandesh and burfi, she brings attention and affection to each seva. She also helps in caring for Tulasi-devi, lovingly giving herself this sacred service. Her open-hearted attitude and eagerness to learn reflect her growing relationship with Radha Madan Mohan.
Nico, a dedicated young devotee from Germany, joined our community less than a year ago, but he’s already made a strong impression. You’ll see him at every temple program, steady and enthusiastic, often singing with full heart during kirtans or learning a new instrument to glorify the Lord. He has a real attraction for pujari service – his natural attention to details finds beautiful expression in his care for Their items and surroundings. His service in the Deity department mirrors Olena’s – hands engaged in polishing, preparing offerings, and helping maintain the Lord’s home with care. In April, Nico took the step of accepting brahmacarya, showing his sincere dedication and a growing commitment to a life focused on spiritual growth and purity.
Outside the temple, Nico finds joy in nature, expressing his devotion through service in our garden. His efforts to live simply, in harmony with the land, reflect a beautiful aspect of Krishna consciousness – caring for Krishna’s creation as part of our daily offering. Nico is also lovingly caring for our Vrinda-devi, who now resides in the Tulasi-house, adding even more beauty to our Tulasi garden.
Together, Olena and Nico bring a refreshing energy and warmth to our community. Day by day, we joyfully come together in seva – sharing their laughter, challenges, questions, and moments of inspiration as they continue to learn and blossom in their devotional journeys.
Supporting and encouraging young devotees like Olena and Nico is not only a joy but also part of our responsibility. Srila Prabhupada often reminded us of the importance of engaging each person according to their nature. When the spark of devotion is fanned with care, appreciation, and guidance, it can grow into a brilliant flame of lifelong service. Let us all take inspiration from these two sincere souls and continue nurturing the next generation of Vaishnavas with faith and affection.
Your servant,
Nitya Kisori devi dasi, of behalf of Goloka Dhama
“Encourage the young devotees as much as possible. They are our future hope.”
